JAMES M. COWLEY

James M. Cowley of Holland & Knight LLP was formerly with Cowley & Chidester, LLP, a Rancho Santa Fe, CA law firm specializing in estate planning, trust and estate administration, charitable giving and representation of nonprofit organizations. Prior to forming his current firm, he was a partner in Latham & Watkins practicing in Los Angeles and San Diego for many years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has written and lectured extensively on charitable and estate planning topics for national and local conferences and has created numerous estate planning forms and practice aids. Mr. Cowley served on the committee which drafted California's Nonprofit Corporations Law. He has also served as an expert witness in a number of cases involving wills, trusts, and charitable gifts.
