MICHAEL S. WHALEN

Michael S. Whalen is a partner with Davis & Whalen LLP, practicing throughout California. A recognized estate planning specialist, Mr. Whalen advises high net worth individuals and their families in all aspects of their financial and estate planning. A primary concern in each representation is the preservation of the family's wealth as it passes from one generation into the hands of the next. Mr. Whalen uses his specialized skills and extensive experience to identify planning opportunities uniquely suited to meet each family's particular needs and objectives. Drawing on his significant experience in trust and probate litigation, Mr. Whalen is preeminent in his ability to craft innovative and flexible solutions to meet planning objectives and to avoid or resolve family disputes.

Mr. Whalen lectures frequently on estate planning and related topics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a member of the planning committee for the annual USC Probate & Trust Conference, a former Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and a State Bar of California Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law. When not working for his clients, Mr. Whalen serves as a trustee of the John Stauffer Charitable Trust, chair of the Board of Visitors of the School of Behavioral and Organizational Sciences at Claremont Graduate University, and a member of the Board of Fellows of the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona.
