Florida Wills & Trusts

January 2000 Update

Updated Product Features

New Options for Certificate of Trust

An option has been added to have Lawgic automatically import some or all provisions from the revocable trust into the certificate of trust.  You can also choose to have Lawgic import the article names and numbers only, with space for you to insert selected provisions after editing the revocable trust in your word processor.  As before, you can choose to have Lawgic create only the shell document with a placeholder for you to copy and paste provisions from the revocable trust.  All three options are explained in more detail in the QHelp for Question 940. Questions 940, 941.

New Options for Witness Information

You now have the option of including each named witness’s address and telephone number in the designation of health care surrogate, the declaration naming preneed guardian, and the living will. Questions 991-998.

Simple Will Now Simpler

The articles titled “Equalization of Estates” and “Funding and Qualification of Marital Gift” are now excluded from the Simple Will and the Disclaimer Will.

Other Changes

Minor changes were made to some of the document formatting and appearance.  These changes include replacing all caps with italics and small caps for the title on the cover page of the will and trust, lengthening the checklines for the “long form” living will, and conforming the witness signatures for the living will and declaration naming preneed guardian to match the designation of health care surrogate.  “Up_Jan00” is a flag file which flags all new questions and any questions with changed choices or commentary (click “Open Flags” on the Flags menu, then click “Florida Wills & Trusts” and “OK,” then “Up_ Jan00” and “OK”).
